1. Who we are
FMTechCemetery (“we”, “us”) is a community project curated by FMGuru. The data controller is [Controller legal name, address and VAT number – to be completed]. You can reach us at hello@fmtechcemetery.com.
2. What data we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through the forms on this site: leaving a flower, lighting a candle, writing a condolence, reporting a sighting or submitting a memorial. Depending on the form this may include your name (always optional where stated), your message, the technology you mention and the donation amount you select. We do not ask for your email address.
Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type and the time of your visit in server logs, for security and to keep the service running.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
We use form data to publish and moderate memorials, condolences and sightings and to keep a record of the gestures left in the cemetery. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the privacy checkbox before sending a form. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Who receives it
Submissions are stored in the website database and sent by email to the site administrators. The site is hosted by Kinsta Inc. on Google Cloud infrastructure in the EU. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.), which means your browser connects to Google servers and shares your IP address with them. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
5. How long we keep it
Form submissions are kept for as long as the related memorial is online, or until you ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider.
6. Payments
Donations are handled by PayPal. When you pay, PayPal processes your payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details.
7. Cookies
This site does not use advertising or profiling cookies. Only technical cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work may be set.
8. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy of it, and withdraw your consent at any time (Art. 15–22 GDPR) by writing to hello@fmtechcemetery.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority; in Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
